Shots, Shots, Shots, Shots.

Brandon

I was so close to killing him.

I would not let Jake steal my girl right out from under me. Tonight, she’d admit that she loved me. The frat party was my last chance to shut him out of the competition. I was Brandon fucking Gage. I never lost. Mandy was mine.

Yet, there was also a chance she would be his. Ashley texted me after my PT session and informed me Mandy planned to choose between Jake and me during the party. It made me crazy. In a few hours, she would either be my real girlfriend or I would lose her to someone who did not really care about her.

No matter what happened, tonight would be the last night that I was her fake boyfriend. I’d be damned if I went down without a fight. I would kiss her every chance I got and convince her that I was the best choice. She was no stranger to the rumors of my womanizing and, though they were true, she had changed me. I wanted to be with her.

“I just want to say no hard feelings about who wins.” Jake tried to create a bro-moment before leaving for the party. “I think it’s best if the loser leaves the other one alone to be with Mandy in peace. For instance, if there’s a sock on the door, come back later.”

Did he really think I would let him sleep with her in our room after he talked about her like she was a game?

I scowled at him until he broke my fierce eye contact. “I can’t wait to see you lose.”

“I’ll see you tonight.” Jake smiled at me. “I wonder if Mandy still tastes like apples…”

Must. Fight. Instinct to tackle him. “She doesn’t.”

“Hmm, I guess I’ll find out.” He shut the door behind him.

When I picked her up, I almost had a heart attack. She planned on wearing that to the party? It barely covered her. “Mandy.” I took a moment to swallow in order to make my throat feel less dry. “What, my darling, are you wearing?”

“Choose your words carefully, Gage.” Ashley said from behind her, “That’s one of my outfits she borrowed.”

I had trouble keeping my eyes off her chest in general, but in this… ‘I am a gentleman, I am a gentleman,’ I repeated in my head. But damn, I wasn’t a fucking gentleman.

“Can she at least have a hoodie? You know, to cover…everything up?”

Mandy looked offended. “Excuse me?”

“Never mind, you look gorgeous. It’s just that you’re going to be very distracting.” I worried about her looking down and seeing me grow harder against my jeans. Erections normally freaked girls out so I dreaded her reaction.

“Oh.” She licked her lips and continued to look down at me. Goddamn. My pants became uncomfortably tight. “Maybe I should bring a jacket.”

I nodded. “If you think that’d be best.” I may have betrayed my Y-chromosomes by having her slide into a hoodie, but who was I kidding? I still found her attractive when she wore an over-sized sweatshirt.
